Late Princess Diana reportedly wouldn’t have backed Prince Harry’s ongoing press battle. According to a source, one of Diana’s friends claimed she would have been “deeply disappointed” by her son’s moves. It came after the Duke of Sussex recently lost the High Court privacy case against the Daily Mail publisher. Moreover, the report mentioned that the father of two has reportedly taken publications to court for allegedly damaging the royal family’s reputation.
Princess Diana’s friend reportedly questions Prince Harry’s moves
Princess Diana’s friend revealed whether the late mother would have supported Prince Harry’s battle with the press. They told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice that the former Princess of Wales reportedly “understood exactly how the media worked.” She had allegedly formed real connections with several journalists.
“[Diana] never saw every journalist as the enemy. She built relationships with people she trusted and used those relationships to make sure her voice was heard,” they shared.
According to the report, Prince William and Harry’s mother was said to be in regular contact with respected royal editors and correspondents. Reportedly, she had “welcomed” the Daily Mail’s support during the downfall of her marriage to then-Prince Charles. The outlet mentioned that the former editor of that newspaper, Paul Dacre, even revealed publicly that they “spoke regularly.”
Meanwhile, an insider claimed that the late princess was “incredibly media savvy.” She seemingly understood that she could not change every story or explosive headline. But she knew how “she could shape the conversation” with the help of some respected journalists, they said.
Therefore, Diana’s friend claimed that the mother of two would reportedly have never backed Harry in his press battle. Earlier, the BBC reported that the Duke of Sussex had lost the High Court privacy case against The Daily Mail. According to the judge, he and six other claimants allegedly failed to prove whether the newspaper used unlawful methods to gather information.
