Taylor Swift Stole Donald Trump’s Thunder From Under His Nose — Source

Taylor Swift reportedly overshadowed Donald Trump’s July 4 plans. A source claimed that the U.S. President allegedly thought the weekend would be about him and America’s birthday. But it was all about the pop star’s wedding to Travis Kelce. According to the report, he was fuming about the newlywed stealing his thunder right under his nose. For those unversed, Swift tied the knot on July 3 at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

Donald Trump is fuming after Taylor Swift’s wedding overshadowed his big July 4 event, claims source

Taylor Swift’s wedding allegedly angered Donald Trump. A source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice that the U.S. President “expected the headlines to be about America’s birthday and his celebration.” But the weekend coverage featured the global sensation’s wedding news. Even the big screens on MSG displayed purple signs, reading “Just T&T married.”

Reportedly, Trump was fuming because his plans were overshadowed by Swift. The White House even tried to mock the singer by displaying another message on the same screen with the same color and font. It read, “Trump is your President.” Moreover, the official social media handles posted an image with the slogan “America’s Eras Tour,” taking a dig at Swift’s Eras Tour.

Despite their efforts, an insider claimed that it seemingly drew more attention to the wedding. “They know they can’t outshine Taylor. Every time they react, they make her an even bigger story,” they said.

Furthermore, another political source told the outlet that Trump questioned Swift receiving “special treatment” in NYC. It was reported that Kelce and his wife had asked for permission to close the streets around the venue for three days. The extensive measures made “[Trump] believe the city rolled out the red carpet for her,” according to the informant.

Meanwhile, one insider suggested that Trump became frustrated because he allegedly wanted to “own the news cycle.”
