Eva Longoria’s latest film is heading to streaming in the coming weeks. The Last Sunrise, an R-rated romantic drama, is set to join Prime Video’s catalog next month. The upcoming release also comes as reports continue to circulate about a possible sequel.
The Last Sunrise to stream on Prime Video next month
The Last Sunrise now has a streaming release date. The R-rated romantic drama will be available to Prime Video subscribers beginning next month. According to Amazon Press, the film is scheduled to arrive on the platform on August 26, 2026.
The story follows Ry, a college student living with a chronic illness, who travels to Mallorca to spend the summer with her mother. Her time away takes an unexpected turn after meeting Julián, a local who becomes an important part of her life. However, as the summer unfolds, her worsening health and long-kept family secrets place both her relationship and the time she has found herself enjoying at risk.
The film stars Maia Reficco as Oriah “Ry” Pera, Fernando Lindez as Julián García, Eva Longoria as Isolde Pera, Andrés Velencoso as Mateo García, Chloé Sweetlove as Amara, and Sabrina Bartlett as Prisha. The Last Sunrise is produced by Jennifer Gibgot, Lena Roklin, Andrew Panay, Brian Pitt, and Anna Todd.
In an interview with EW, Longoria said, “What I love most about The Last Sunrise is that it’s a beautiful summer romance with a deeper message about living in the moment. At its heart, it’s about love, self-discovery, and finding joy even in uncertain times.”
Last month, Deadline reported that Amazon MGM is exploring a sequel to The Last Sunrise, citing multiple sources. According to the outlet, the project has not yet received official approval, meaning there is no certainty it will move forward. However, the reported long-term plan is to expand the story into a three-film series if the sequel is ultimately greenlit. As of now, the studio has not commented on the report.
