King Charles reportedly cannot help Prince Harry solve the security issue. According to a source, the law has nothing to do with any royal protocols. It appears to fall under RAVEC, an independent British government committee. Allegedly, the Duke of Sussex believed that he could solve the problem with money or that his father would help him in this matter. But nothing seemed to work for him so far.
King Charles can’t help Prince Harry’s security issue, claims source
Prince Harry allegedly wanted one thing from King Charles but didn’t receive it. A source told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice that he allegedly expected his father to intervene to solve his security issue. For those unversed, the duke has been in an ongoing battle with the British government after he lost his automatic, state-funded police protection in 2020.
According to the outlet, the law falls under RAVEC, an independent UK government committee that determines who is eligible for the taxpayer-funded protection. Reportedly, when Harry left the UK and stepped down as a working royal, his security and protection privileges ended. Furthermore, he took the matter to the court but lost.
Although he has still been challenging the decision, the “Spare” author reportedly hoped King Charles could step in. But the monarch, too, has no say in this matter, which is handled by RAVEC. “Harry thought his father might be able to influence the outcome. He can’t. RAVEC operates completely outside royal control,” the insider claimed.
Meanwhile, another palace veteran noted that the decision was not a “palace protocol” but “it’s British law.” Therefore, neither the king nor Harry could seemingly change it. Moreover, another source reported that Harry has allegedly been aware of his “security status” ahead of his upcoming UK trip.
Reportedly, the father of two thought that he could change it with money. “No amount of money can buy powers the law simply doesn’t allow,” another informant said.
