The story begins with Reacher in New York. Before the Season 4 release date was announced, Season 5 was already teased by Ritchson in an Instagram post. This was followed by an official announcement by Amazon MGM Studios. MGM Studios’ Head of Global Television, Peter Friedlander, stated, “We’re excited to move forward with a fifth season ahead of Season Four’s debut.”

Ritchson will reprise his role as Reacher in the new season. Other cast members include Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan, Kevin Weisman, Kathleen Robertson, Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette, and Maria Sten, who also leads the upcoming spin-off series Neagley.
