Taylor Swift Might Steal Donald Trump’s Biggest Weekend Without Trying

Taylor Swift could reignite her online beef with Donald Trump. There is a chance of the pop icon inadvertently stealing the thunder from his upcoming America 250 event. The president has been rallying for a long time to promote the grand celebration he has planned to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence on July 4. However, he could end up playing second fiddle to the “Fate of Ophelia” singer on the day.

Donald Trump’s America 250 event might get upstaged by Taylor Swift

According to a June 24 report by The New York Times, there is a high chance of Taylor Swift going through with her planned nuptials with fiancé Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3.

If true, Swift’s wedding could upstage Donald Trump’s America 250 event. It is set to commence its proceedings on July 3 as well.

The aforementioned report claims that the 14-time Grammy winner has already booked the iconic venue for multiple days. Swift’s team filed for a permit to close the streets of Madison Square Garden from July 2 to July 4. The report mentions that hotel rooms have already been booked at a Times Square hotel for Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates.

As such, Swift’s wedding plans have the potential to draw significant attention away from Donald Trump’s America 250 event. Notably, the president has previously expressed his frustration with the 36-year-old singer, after she publicly backed Kamala Harris against him.

“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” he noted in a September 2024 Truth Social post.

Trump added to the narrative in August 2025, just days before Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement. The President stated that the singer was “no longer hot.”

However, he took a swift U-turn later that month while talking to the press about the duo’s engagement. “I wish them a lot of luck. I think he’s a great player; I think he’s a great guy, and I think that she’s a terrific person, so I wish them a lot of luck,” he told CSPAN on August 26, 2025.
