Donald Trump has jokingly suggested that he could beat UFC fighter Bo Nickal in a fight. The president compared his physical prowess to Nickal’s, humorously adding that he could take on the MMA star in the Octagon. Trump made the remark during a recent visit to Pennsylvania.
Donald Trump says his greater weight could help against Bo Nickal
Donald Trump spoke at a Mack Truck facility in Reading, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday. At one point during the speech, the president invited UFC fighters Bo Nickal and Anthony Cassar to the stage, jokingly claiming that he could take them on in the ring if he were to “work out for the next couple of months.”
Trump compared his physical shape to that of Nickal’s, saying, “I’m a similar size. I actually weigh more than he does, actually, so, therefore, I have a tremendous physical advantage over him.” The UFC champ stands at 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 186 pounds, according to his ESPN profile. The POTUS then added, “His muscles are slightly harder and slightly younger—he’s a lot younger. But I think I can do it because I’m a great athlete.”
Trump continued the quip, saying, “He knows I’m a very good golfer. And I’m much better off on the golf course against him than I am on the wrestling mat.” The president went on to praise Nickal and his MMA achievements. “But he went virtually undefeated—I mean, he went four years, he was the top wrestler,” Trump said. In all seriousness, he added, “Bo Nickal went… I mean, you couldn’t defeat the guy.”
During the rally, Trump called the Mack Trucks facility a “legendary company [that] has been making trucks right here in eastern Pennsylvania.” The president expressed his appreciation for the company for “building the heavy duty machinery that keeps our economy rolling, our factories moving, and our industries roaring all across the nation.”
