A popular animated Disney+ TV show has announced that its upcoming season will be its last. The Disney+ show was a revival of an original series that aired in the early 2000s.

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder will end with its upcoming fourth season. However, fans dreading the show’s demise have some good news too. Disney has announced a new stop-motion holiday special, titled A Proud Family Wizmas, arriving on Disney+ later this year. The holiday special will be co-directed by David Brooks and HouseSpecial, the Portland-based stop-motion studio. Kurt Farquhar will compose six new original songs in the holiday special.
While the show ends this year, its creators, Bruce W. Smith and Ralph Farquhar, will continue producing new shows on Disney+. The company has renewed the duo’s overall deal with Disney Television Animation under their production banner, BaR Productions, for another year.
The upcoming season’s synopsis reads, “Season four finds the Proud family at a life-changing turning point. Penny Proud is pulled into a series of unexpected adventures that test her courage and identity. With more action-packed, mind-bending and heartfelt twists than ever before, the Prouds face every new challenge head-on, proving that no matter how chaotic life gets, they’re strongest when they face it together.”
The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder stars Kyla Pratt, Tommy Davidson, Paula Jai Parker, JoMarie Payton, Cedric The Entertainer, Karen Malina White, Soleil Moon Frye, Alisa Reyes, Carlos Mencia, Alvaro Gutierrez, Raquel Lee Bolleau, Marcus T. Paulk, and Melissa De Sousa.
The upcoming season’s guest stars include Mariah Carey, Romany Malco, Chloe Bailey, Lorraine Toussaint, Christopher “Mad Dog” Russo, Kym Whitley, Dee Nasty, Adele Givens, Ali Wong, JB Smoove, and Lashana Lynch.
The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder can be streamed on Disney+. Its fourth and final season premieres on July 29, 2026.
