Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds had a date night out in New York City recently. The paparazzi captured the couple showing public displays of affection while out and about. In his June 13 Substack post, Naughty but Nice podcast host Rob Shuter shared that insiders believe that the couple wanted to be perceived.
An insider told Shuter, “These photos don’t just happen. The photographers are being tipped off. Blake and Ryan know exactly what they’re doing.” Sources have claimed that the couple has lately been leaning into public displays of affection in an attempt to recover from the damage the legal battle did to their image.
“They want people scrolling through photos of them looking happy, sexy, and in love,” a source said. “The strategy is to overwhelm the negative coverage with positive images.” At the same time, the insiders also claimed that the alleged strategy does not seem to be working in the couple’s favor.
“The legal drama did real damage,” an insider explained. “Every time new photos appear, people immediately connect them to the Baldoni mess. The distraction isn’t distracting anyone.” Some friends of the couple have also stated that Reynolds and Lively want to regain their status as one of Hollywood’s golden couples.
Another insider said, “This is reputation management disguised as romance. They’re trying to create a new narrative, but the old one hasn’t gone away.” The long legal battle between Lively and Baldoni also strained the actress’s relationship with her longtime friend, Taylor Swift.
