A hit Hulu and Disney+ TV show is getting a spin-off series. With a new destination and focus, the spin-off aims to challenge stereotypes surrounding the region’s cuisine.
Which hit Hulu and Disney+ TV show has received a spin-off?
Tucci in Italy is the hit Hulu and Disney+ TV show, which has received a spin-off order from National Geographic, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Titled Tucci in Great Britain, the upcoming show follows the host and actor, Stanley Tucci, embark on a culinary journey through his adopted homeland.
Regarding the new TV show, Stanley said, “I am very excited to explore the history, culture, and people of Great Britain through the prism of food. Having made it my home for almost 15 years, I want to share the culinary diversity, richness, and depth of its food culture.”
While Tucci in Italy saw him explore Italian food and culture, Tucci in Great Britain will take viewers on a five-episode journey across the country, highlighting the diversity of British cuisine. The series also aims to counter the narrative surrounding the food from the region, which is often written off as bland and tasteless.

National Geographic Executive Vice President of Content Tom McDonald said of the spin-off series, said, “Stanley Tucci is one of a kind — smart, funny, authentic, passionate about food and culture, and deeply interested in the stories of the people who make the very best food. That’s why I’m so excited that his next journey will be around Great Britain — the place he has called home for over a decade. The stories that Stanley and his team have unearthed will be sure to delight and surprise — a reminder of just how varied and delicious food in the U.K. truly is.”
The logline of the upcoming Hulu and Disney+ TV show reads, “From the rugged Highlands to the storied coastlines, Tucci unlocks the distinct – and often surprising – flavors that define each region.”
Produced by Salt Productions and OBB, the series will air on National Geographic and stream on Hulu and Disney+. However, a premiere date for Tucci in Great Britain has not yet been announced.
