Marjorie Taylor Greene called Donald Trump a traitor, alleging that he tried to block the release of the Epstein files to protect his friends. The 52-year-old former representative called it “absolutely ridiculous and unforgivable” that Trump officials would allegedly try to cover up details related to the late sex offender and disgraced financier.
Allegations over Epstein files release involving Donald Trump resurface thanks to Majorie Taylor Greene
During an appearance with Kaitlan Collins on CNN, Greene said, “I had a very uncomfortable phone call with the president before the release of the Epstein files, where he told me that his friends would get hurt if the files were released. And I’ll never forget that.”
“I’ll also never forget the text message that he sent me when I told him that my son’s life was being threatened because he was calling me a traitor because I fought to release the Epstein files, where he told me that I deserved it,” she further stated, as reported by LGBTQ Nation.
She said they were “pedophiles and rapists from the elite class who never get held accountable for anything.” Adding, if the officials were paralyzed and scared and didn’t know what to do about releasing the Epstein files, “they don’t deserve the American people’s trust. As a matter of fact, they should be considered traitors… Those are the traitors to the American people, and they should be ashamed of themselves.”
Collins asked Greene, a former MAGA supporter, if her remarks were directed at Trump, noting reports that he opposed releasing the files. Greene replied, “I’m saying exactly that.”
Donald Trump has not been charged or officially accused by investigators of any wrongdoing related to Jeffrey Epstein or his crimes. However, the president was friends with Jeffrey Epstein during the 1990s and early 2000s, reports the BBC.
