Sydney Sweeney lands a role in new movie, Hollow

As per Deadline, Sydney Sweeney has landed a role in the new movie Hollow after Euphoria. Filmmaker and screenwriter Lindsey Anderson Beer will adapt her debut novel Hollow into a movie starring Sweeney. The 28-year-old actress will reportedly co-produce the film alongside LuckyChap and Beer through her Lab Brew banner.

As per sources, the novel generated significant industry competition immediately upon submission. However, Sweeney bagged the rights to produce and star in the movie. Hollow is said to be a terrific reimagining of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, told through the perspective of Katrina Van Tassel.

Beer reimagines Van Tassel as not just a romantic lead but rather from a strong, feminist perspective. Beer’s reimagining of the story combines a gothic environment that brilliantly merges with a psychological mood and an erotic thriller flavor into a modern reinvention of the classic tale.

Deadline announced recently that Sweeney launched her own production house called Honey Trap. The 28-year-old has launched the banner in collaboration with longtime creative collaborator Kaylee McGregor.

Notably, Honey Trap has also signed a first-look deal with Sony Pictures. Interestingly, Sweeney is no stranger to being a producer. She previously produced the romantic-comedy sleeper hit, Anyone But You, starring alongside Glen Powell. The film grossed more than $210 million worldwide.

Sweeney and Sony Pictures released a joint statement: “At Honey Trap, we believe the most unforgettable stories live in contradiction. Beauty and danger, intimacy and power, vulnerability and control. Our mission is to create bold, cinematic film and television that challenge perception, spark conversation, and leave a lasting emotional imprint. We are committed to championing visionary filmmakers, complex characters, and stories that push beyond expectation while remaining deeply entertaining and emotionally accessible.”
