Stephen Colbert Retains One Element of Talk Show After Cancellation

Stephen Colbert’s talk show set has reportedly been donated to the Museum of Broadcast Communications. After the cancellation of “The Late Show,” the beloved host would allegedly leave a part of his legacy accessible to his fans. According to the Chicago-based museum’s social media post, they would soon receive the set.

For those unversed, CBS canceled the popular show and aired its final episode on May 21. Colbert had hosted the late-night show for around 11 years.

Stephen Colbert would reportedly donate the “Late Show” set to the Museum of Broadcast Communications (MBC). Recently, the museum’s Instagram page confirmed the news. It was mentioned in a post, “CBS announced yesterday that Colbert’s Late Show set will be donated to our museum. The set will be on the road, on its way to Chicago next week!”

The comedian ended his tenure on the longest-running late-night talk show on May 21. With the final episode, he bid farewell to a part of his legacy. While his fans were seemingly heartbroken, he and the network have found the perfect solution. According to the online post, fans will now have access to the set.

Furthermore, Colbert’s show was known for celebrity interviews, monologues, and political satire. He had often taken a jab at Donald Trump in several episodes. However, the finale didn’t mention the U.S. President. The host ended “The Late Show” by recalling old interviews, welcoming celebrity friends, delivering punchlines, and giving an emotional speech

“This show, I want you to know, and you to know, has been a joy for us to do for you. In fact, we call this show the ‘joy machine,’” Colbert stated. “We were here to feel the news with you. And I don’t know about you, but I sure have felt it. And I just want to let all y’all know in here and out there how important you’ve been to what we have done,” he added.
