The View Hosts React to Donald Trump’s Name Removal at Kennedy Center

Whoopi Goldberg was in high spirits when she celebrated the recent “setbacks” for Donald Trump on The View’s recent episode. Co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro also enjoyed the moment.

On May 29, a federal judge issued a 94-page ruling ordering the government to remove all Trump branding from the Kennedy Center.

Goldberg began the show with feigned emotion, declaring that the president had not had an easy week. She commented on how a federal judge had ordered Donald Trump to remove his name from the Kennedy Center.

Co-host Ana Navarro also quipped, “Girl, if they get me a ladder, I’ll do it for free,” suggesting an in-person, physical removal of the branding. Hostin said that it was a small win but was “so satisfying.” Goldberg, however, insisted that it was “a huge win!”

Hostin stated that the bigger win was that Trump’s $1.7 billion fund for allies has been blocked. Alyssa Farah Griffin had also previously criticised the initiative, calling it “the swampiest thing I could possibly imagine.”

In the detailed ruling on Trump, the judge wrote, “Congress gave the Kennedy Center its name, and only Congress can change it. Nor can any other individual be memorialized on the front portico of the building.”

The court ordered the administration to completely remove Donald Trump’s name from the physical building facade, digital branding, and all official materials within 14 days.

Hours after the ruling, Trump reacted on Truth Social and wrote that the judge “should be ashamed of himself.” He instructed the Department of Commerce to coordinate a full transfer of the venue back to Congress, saying, Unless I am free to do what I do better than anyone else… I have no interest in continuing what could only be a hopeless journey into NEVER NEVER LAND.”
