Alexa Demie recently got candid about why she decided not to do sex scenes in “Euphoria.” In her new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor revealed that she thought choosing not to do intimate scenes might cost her the part itself. She explained, “I thought that if I said no to doing them, then I wouldn’t have the part.”
In the meantime, during the interview, Alexa Demie further talked about why she thought that. The actor said, “Not because anyone ever said that to me, but because I was so young and I didn’t know.” She then explained that after filming a set of particular sex scenes, she realized that she did not feel comfortable with them. The actor revealed, “I’m not saying I don’t love sex, and I think it can be portrayed beautifully.” She continued, “And I know the show is portraying the life of teenage girls.”
Meanwhile, Alexa Demie also explained, “But once I did it, I realized, ‘OK, I don’t love how this feels.'” The actor then revealed that she told people on set about it. She said, “So I said something, and everyone was empathetic.” The actor added, “And I never did that again.” She further discussed her character Maddy’s arc in season 3 of “Euphoria.” The actor said, “She doesn’t have the street smarts that she thinks she does.” “And also, when has this show ever been realistic? It’s fantastical,” she added.
