Donald Trump Receives Clean Bill of Health in New White House Memo

President Donald Trump is in excellent health, his doctor says. The White House released a detailed memo late Friday following the president’s annual physical. Trump visited Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday for a comprehensive examination that covered cardiac, neurological, dermatologic, and other assessments. His physician, White House doctor Capt. Sean Barbabella signed off on the results with an emphatic declaration.

“President Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function,” Barbabella wrote in the memo’s summary. “His demanding daily schedule, including multiple high-level meetings, public engagements, and regular physical activity, continues to support his overall well-being,” the doctor added.

Barbabella continued, “Cognitive and physical performance are excellent. He is fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.” Donald Trump had already hinted at the health results before the White House memo dropped. Posting on Truth Social that he “checked out perfectly.” The visit to Walter Reed was his third in 13 months.

The memo noted that Trump weighed 238 pounds during Tuesday’s exam, up from 224 pounds recorded at his April 2025 physical. Barbabella also documented slight lower leg swelling, attributed to the president’s previously diagnosed chronic venous insufficiency.

Bruising on Donald Trump’s hands was explained as consistent with “minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking in the setting of aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention.” The memo also flagged scarring on the president’s right ear, consistent with the wound he sustained during the assassination attempt in July 2024.

One of the standout results in the report was Trump’s performance on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a standard screening tool for memory issues and cognitive decline. He scored a perfect 30 out of 30.

The White House’s release of the memo comes as questions about Donald Trump’s health have periodically surfaced in recent months, including after he mentioned undergoing an MRI scan last fall.
