With a slew of high-profile government officials losing their jobs in recent times, Jimmy Kimmel has predicted the next member of Donald Trump’s administration who is most likely to receive his marching orders from the president. In his latest monologue, the seasoned late-night talk show host highlighted a massive geopolitical mix-up that reportedly took place a few weeks ago and explained how it could result in the firing of a prominent cabinet member.
Jimmy Kimmel jokes about who will be fired next in Donald Trump administration
On the May 27 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the titular host spoke about an alleged error committed by the Secretary of War, which supposedly earned him the president’s wrath. Kimmel even insinuated that this mistake could ultimately lead to Hegseth’s dismissal.
After playing clips of a cabinet meeting between Donald Trump administration members, Kimmel aimed at Hegseth, stating, “No one was more effusive today than Pete Hegseth, who for Trump has been a bigger screwup than Eric [Trump].”
The comedian then explained why the Secretary of War decided to abruptly cancel the deployment of 4,000 US troops to Poland due to the country’s tussle with Germany over differing political ideologies. This action of Hegseth reportedly prompted Donald Trump to give his administration member “an angry phone call,” wherein he explained that “Poland was not the country he was mad at. He was mad at Germany.”
Blasting Hegseth for his supposed mistake, Kimmel remarked, “We’ve all made mistakes, but only Pete Hegseth can make a ‘Donald Trump knows more about Poland than I do ’-caliber mistake.”
He then mocked the official for his alleged inclination towards alcohol, stating, “In fairness to Pete Hegseth, you try telling the difference between Poland and Germany after 16 Coors Lights. It’s hard.”
Kimmel closed his rant on Hegseth by giving him a one-of-a-kind geography lesson and jokingly predicting his firing by calling him “soon-to-be-former Secretary of War.”
Since reports of the error came out, Donald Trump has taken to his Truth Social profile to “endorse” Karol Nawrocki, the current president of Poland, and pledge 5,000 US troops to the European country.
