Jimmy Fallon, who has taken several digs at Donald Trump on his The Tonight Show before, once again hit out at the President by sarcastically calling the Iran war a “fantastic idea.” Though Fallon has not been as vocal about the President as some of his late-night colleagues, in his recent monologue, he took some big digs at the President and his controversial decision to wage war on Iran.
Jimmy Fallon jokes about Donald Trump’s Iran war
Veteran talk show host Jimmy Fallon recently addressed Donald Trump’s war on Iran during his monologue on The Tonight Show. The talk show host, who usually takes a softer and more diplomatic stance on the Trump administration than his colleagues, like Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert, sarcastically called the Iran War a great idea.
“According to a new poll, most voters think Trump made the wrong decision to go to war with Iran,” Fallon began during his monologue on the show, “Not me. Personally, I think it was a fantastic decision. One of the best in history, you know?”
Building on his sarcastic take, Fallon continued, “Right up there with giving Felicity a haircut, investing in Spirit Airlines, betting on Mike Tyson to beat Jake Paul, that ad where Kendall Jenner gives Pepsi to a police officer, ‘The Godfather Part III,’ ‘Toy Story Part 4,’ and of course licking the captain’s hand on that cruise ship last week.”
The comment drew a hearty response from the viewers. The host seemingly referred to a New York Times/Siena poll released Monday, May 18, 2026. In it, 64% of respondents indicated that they believe Trump made a mistake with the Iran war.
Right now, a ceasefire is in place, with little further development surrounding the war. Some reports indicate that a peace talk is underway. But no permanent solution has been reached yet.
