Four Fast & Furious TV shows are now in the works at Peacock, according to Vin Diesel.
The Fast & Furious — also known as The Fast and the Furious — franchise officially launched at Universal Pictures in 2001 with the Rob Cohen-directed movie. Since then, there have been a large handful of sequels and spin-off movies, the latest being 2023’s Fast X. Another Fast & Furious movie, titled Fast Forever, is now officially in the works and dated for 2028.
What do we know about the new Fast & Furious TV shows?
Per Deadline, fans of the franchise can now start getting excited about some new live-action TV shows, as NBCUniversal has officially announced that four Fast & Furious series are currently in the works.
“Peacock is launching four shows in the Fast and the Furious universe,” Diesel said at a NBCUniversal presentation earlier today.
Deadline’s article explains, “No details are being provided on the series, which comes from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group. Diesel and Sam Vincent executive produce via One Race alongside Fast & Furious franchise producer Neal Moritz and Pavun Shetty of Original Film, as well as two other franchise producers, Chris Morgan, who also wrote several of the movies, and Jeff Kirschenbaum. Diesel, Moritz, and Morgan also executive produce an animated Fast & Furious series set at Netflix from DreamWorks Animation.”
The pilot for one of these shows will be written by Mike Daniels and Wolfe Coleman; although, again, it’s unclear what this project will be about and how it will connect to the other shows. No release date information is available at this time, meaning it’s not immediately clear if any of these projects will premiere before Fast Forever. Fast Forever is currently dated for March 17, 2028.
There’s also no information as to whether or not Diesel’s Dominic Toretto, or any of the other fan-favorite characters from the franchise, will appear in these shows.
