Jack Black Jumps on the ‘GRWM’ Trend for SNL Promo

Jack Black brought his signature humor to social media trends as he geared up for his return to Saturday Night Live. Instead of a standard promo, he leaned into the viral “Get Ready With Me” format. As a result, the teaser instantly stood out, giving fans a playful glimpse of his hosting comeback.

Jack Black does the ‘GRWM’ trend in new SNL promo

In the newly released promo, Black filmed himself in a bathrobe with a towel wrapped around his head. He kicked things off by announcing that the episode held special significance. Not only did he return as host, but he also marked his fifth time on the iconic stage.

At the same time, he hyped up the episode’s musical guest, Jack White, jokingly calling him his “brother from another color.” He even broke into an air-guitar moment, adding to the clip’s chaotic energy.

However, the real highlight came from his outfit selection process. Black sorted through loud, patterned shirts, graphic tees, and unconventional pieces. He debated between “jorts” and what he humorously called “florts.” Eventually, he landed on a bold mix: a cat graphic tee, a pizza-and-cat print overshirt, flame-patterned shorts, and rainbow tube socks.

Moreover, he completed the look with platform Crocs and a hybrid “buckeanie,” blending a bucket hat with a beanie. The exaggerated styling perfectly matched the absurd tone of the promo.

Just as he finalized the outfit, Sarah Sherman appeared and disrupted the moment, adding another comedic beat to the video.

The episode also tied into Black’s ongoing projects, including his role in “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie”. His return to SNL continued a long-standing relationship, with previous hosting gigs dating back to the early 2000s.

Ultimately, Black turned a simple promo into a full comedic sketch, proving once again why he remained a fan favorite.
