Watson

CBS canceled Watson on March 27, 2026, after two seasons. The sophomore drama starred Morris Chestnut and premiered in January 2025. Watson ranked among CBS’ lowest-rated programs and suffered a ratings drop after moving from Sundays to Mondays. CBS scheduled the series finale for May 3, 2026.

DMV

CBS also canceled the freshman comedy DMV on March 27, 2026. Harriet Dyer led the show, which debuted in October 2025. DMV maintained steady linear ratings but saw declines in delayed multi-platform viewing. CBS set the series finale for May 11, 2026. With DMV ending, CBS opens comedy slots for new pilots Eternally Yours and Tillbrooks in its 2026-27 lineup.

Star Trek: Starfleet Academy

Paramount+ canceled Star Trek: Starfleet Academy on March 23, 2026, limiting the show to two seasons. Season 1 aired its finale on March 12 and earned an 87% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes, but received only a 51% audience score. The show also struggled to rank on Nielsen’s Top 10 streaming charts.

CBS Studios and Paramount+ released a joint statement: “We’re incredibly proud of the ambition, passion, and creativity that went into bringing Star Trek: Starfleet Academy to life… We look forward to sharing the upcoming second and final season with everyone.”

Co-showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau added: “We are in post-production now on what will be the second and final season… We will finish strong.” Season 2 had already wrapped production before the cancellation announcement.
