AMC Cancels Horror Thriller TV Show Just After One Season

AMC has ended Talamasca: The Secret Order after a single season, bringing a quick close to the horror thriller following its 2025 debut. The series, which formed part of the network’s slate based on Anne Rice’s works, will not return for a second season

Talamasca: The Secret Order canceled at AMC after Season 1

According to Variety, Talamasca: The Secret Order will not return for a second season, with AMC confirming that the series has been canceled after its initial run.

In a statement, the network acknowledged the end of the show while expressing appreciation for the cast and crew. “The Talamasca has a storied place within the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and we expect to see at least some of these characters, and the organization itself, in future expressions of the franchise,” the statement read.

The series aired its six-episode debut season beginning in October 2025. Nicholas Denton starred as Guy Anatole in the series. Other cast members include Celine Buckens as Doris, Maisie Richardson-Sellers as Olive, William Fichtner as Jasper, and Elizabeth McGovern as Helen. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 61 percent critics score and a 67 percent audience rating.

The story centers on Guy Anatole, a recent law graduate whose career trajectory changes after he is recruited into a secretive organization known as the Talamasca. As Guy becomes more involved, he discovers that he has been under observation by the organization for years. Over the course of the season, Guy is assigned to investigate internal concerns within the organization’s London base, where suspicions arise about an individual working against its interests.

The move marks the first cancellation within the Anne Rice Immortal Universe since AMC secured the rights to the author’s catalog in 2020. The network has since built a series of interconnected series, including Interview with the Vampire and Mayfair Witches.
