This Zendaya Rumor Is a Recycled ‘Old Trick’ — Expert

With the new film “The Drama” releasing soon, Zendaya‘s marriage rumours have sparked curiosity among her fans and the industry. While Zendaya and her fiancé, Tom Holland, have not confirmed or denied the news of their marriage, which was first revealed by celebrity stylist Law Roach, an expert believes the actress’s rumours are nothing new. It’s an old trick to promote her upcoming film with Robert Pattinson.

Zendaya’s wedding rumor is nothing new, says expert

Zendaya and Robert Pattinson’s upcoming film, “The Drama,” is all set to hit theaters early next month. And during the promotion, Zendaya is often questioned about her marriage rumors with fiancé Tom Holland at every interview. While the actress has played coy, an expert has claimed the wedding rumor is an old Hollywood trick to promote a new movie. As per a celebrity branding expert, it is called “calculated catnip.”

“They’re genuflecting back to the tricks of the trade of the [old Hollywood] studio days,” Mark Borkowski told Page Six. “It’s remaining in control … If you’re really realistic, you know your moment is transient. In modern terms, it’s what we all try to do with publicity: bewitch the algorithm.”

Elaborating further, Borkowski told the outlet that, amid the wedding rumours, “What she’s done recently is found a way of churning a narrative into cultural gossip without ever looking like it’s marketing or a hard sell.” As per the expert, Zendaya has “got this new product, and she leans into the rumors around Tom Holland — but never declares it.”

For her film’s promotions, the 29-year-old has so far been spotted in “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue” at interviews and events. And looking at the rumors and her wardrobe choices, Borkowski thinks Zendaya is “creating atmosphere” to make “us want to engage with that story,” he added, calling viral moments when Zendaya engages in wedding rumors “episodic.”

As per the expert, this all “creates noise and heat” for a new project. Borkowski concluded, “It’s not an accident — it’s clever choreography. Everything she’s done has been for marketing ‘The Drama.'”
