A new rumor suggests that Spider-Man may wear a black symbiote suit in Avengers: Secret Wars. While Tom Holland’s name has not been officially announced for Secret Wars and Doomsday, it is still speculated that he will have a key role in both movies. Avengers: Secret Wars is scheduled to hit theaters in 2027. However, there are also currently rumors that the movie might be split into two parts.
Spider-Man rumored to get a black symbiote suit in Avengers: Secret Wars
Recently, Hollywood insider My Time To Shine Hello (also known as MTTSH) posted on X (formerly Twitter) about the suit Spider-Man might wear in Avengers: Secret Wars.
MTTSH shared a comic book cover featuring Spider-Man in a black suit and noted, “Spider-Man is getting the symbiote and black suit in Avengers Secret Wars.” However, this is just a rumor.
Moreover, the scooper also didn’t mention if the Spider-Man in question is Tom Holland’s, Andrew Garfield’s, or Tobey Maguire’s.
In a previous tweet, MTTSH stated that “Tom Holland will play a HUGE role in Avengers Secret Wars.” However, neither the directors of Doomsday and Secret Wars, the Russo Brothers, nor Holland has spoken about the latter’s role.
In September 2025, Holland had a chat with LADbible in which he spoke about his future as Spider-Man. However, the actor remained mostly tight-lipped about it and conveyed, “I think with anything, it’s all about what’s in front of you, and right now what’s in front of us is Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and focusing on making that movie worthy of the last film. I have been actively sifting through the internet and trying to best understand what it is that the fans want from a Spider-Man movie, and that’s been my driving force in these pitch meetings. In terms of my future in the character beyond this film, I don’t know the answer to that.”
