All 11 seasons of an ’80s sitcom featuring Modern Family’s Ed O’Neill are scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video later this month. Unlike other wholesome, family-oriented sitcoms at the time, this series was popular for its dark, edgy, and crude humor. Nonetheless, it is the Fox network’s longest-running live-action sitcom.
Married… With Children begins streaming on Prime Video this month
Married… With Children Seasons 1-11 will begin streaming on Prime Video from Wednesday, March 25, 2026, as per Amazon.
Created by Ron Leavitt and Michael G. Moye, the series is about the Bundy family, a dysfunctional working-class family living in Chicago. It follows their everyday lives as they navigate bizarre problems with arguments, sarcasm, and crude humor.
The show’s cast features Ed O’Neill as Al Bundy, Katey Sagal as Peggy, Christina Applegate as Kelly, David Faustino as Bud, Amanda Bearse as Marcy, David Garrison as Steve, and Ted McGinley as Jefferson, among others.
Married… With Children’s pilot episode aired on April 5, 1987, and the show ran for 11 seasons, with the finale airing on June 9, 1997. Initially, Fox reportedly ordered a 12th and final season to serve as a proper conclusion to the Bundy family story. However, the network cancelled the show, leaving the series with an abrupt ending.
In a 2020 interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, O’Neil said he learnt about the cancellation from fans he encountered in his hometown. He added that the network didn’t even give the cast a parting gift.
The show had also spawned several spin-offs, such as Top of the Heap (1991) and Vinnie & Bobby (1992). But the network ultimately canceled them. In May 2023, Christina Applegate suggested that the original lead cast would be involved in an animated revival of Married… With Children. Sadly, the studio canceled that as well, as per TVLine.
