A new ad from Belgian AI startup AiCandy has released an advertisement for their company, mocking AI’s constant demand for energy. The ad imagines the world 10 years later, where humans have been completely replaced by Artificial Intelligence. So, the tech CEOs, Sam Altman, Elon Musk, and Jeff Bezos, who are at the helm of the AI boom, are shaping a new world where humans provide the energy for AI machines, much like the Black Mirror Episode, 15 Million Merits.
“By 2030, 80% of humans had lost their jobs,” Elon Musk says in the spoof ad for the company “Energym.” Jeff Bezos adds, “but they do have a lot of time on their hands.” AI Elon Musk continues, “What if we could use the energy of humans to power the machines that took away their jobs?”
The video then goes on to explore a world where humans solely work out to generate energy for AI machinery.
While there have been wide-ranging debates about artificial intelligence never truly replacing human competence, this seems to be an industry that is advancing rapidly. Moreover, there have been latent fears of the technology taking over for a while now.
