Sadie Sink’s Jean Grey reveal gets exciting reactions
A new report claims that Sadie Sink is playing Jean Grey in Spider-Man 4: Brand New Day. Trusted scooper Cryptic HD QUALITY stated on X that the Stranger Things actor is “Jean Grey” in the upcoming Marvel Studios film. Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed the casting.
Sink was cast in the film in March 2025 in an undisclosed role. Speculation continued for months, with names such as Rachel Cole-Alves, Firestar, Spider-Girl, and Shathra circulating online.
Previous reports described a character believed to be Jean Grey acting antagonistically. One reported scene shows the character using mind control powers to manipulate Department of Damage Control guards into freeing Scorpion from prison. Additional leaks suggested the character turns Bruce Banner back into the Hulk, prompting Alex Perez to question how “this is something Jean Grey would do.”
Following the latest rumor, users shared reactions on X. One user wrote, “I think she would be a great Jean. If only they weren’t giving the X-men costumes similar to these in the reboot.” Another user posted, “Peak cast.”
A third user stated, “Jean Grey knowing Spider-Man’s identity before the rest of the world is a WILD narrative choice. The dynamic just shifted. We are so back.” Another added, “Plus she’s playing her youngggg! Guys, We’re gonna be eating for a long timeeee!”
Sink previously addressed joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, saying, “Spider-Man has always been my favorite. I love Spider-Man. I love Tom’s Spider-Man, especially.” She added, “I have so many Spider-Man secrets I’m sitting on that feel even more secretive” (via The Hollywood Reporter).
The film is scheduled for release on July 31, 2026.
