General Hospital star Kirsten Storms goes public about being hacked
Storms shared multiple Instagram videos to update fans that her device had been hacked, and she urgently needed a cybersecurity specialist. In the first video, she acknowledged being less active on social media and posting less. She further revealed that she has been dealing with an important matter and needs her followers’ help. Storms asks whether any of the followers know someone from the cyber division who can investigate into hack devices.
She said, “My cell phone and my internet router, when I moved to Tennessee, were both accessed by someone or several people who are not me or anyone I know. And my iCloud eventually got accessed. I had to get a new device. I have not gotten a new Apple account; I don’t think I will. But I really need to find someone who can look into it for me.”
Further, Storms revealed that she did reach out to the police to file a report. However, she learnt that the local police didn’t have a cyber division. Therefore, she went public with the issue, urging fans who know a cybersecurity specialist to connect them with her.
In a follow-up video, the 41-year-old revealed that she’s back in Tennessee after completing her work for GH in L.A. And now, she’s looking forward to tackling the internet issue, as she’s finding it very concerning.
“So if you know someone, I have like, a video of MAC addresses and a bunch of other stuff that came from my router box at my apartment in Franklin. And then a few other things. I know I never post stuff like this; I just don’t know what to do because the police department doesn’t have a cyber division, and I would have to submit it to the state people. And I would really like to get this figured out now. It’s really freaking me out,” she further added.
In the third video, the actress also revealed that she has been facing the issue since December.
