MrBeast is considering live-streaming his viral YouTube challenges instead of posting them as pre-recorded videos. He revealed this to fellow influencer Marlon Garcia during a broadcast. For those unversed, Donaldson (real name) primarily gained popularity on YouTube by making viral challenge videos.
MrBeast shares he is considering moving to live streaming
MrBeast confessed he is eyeing moving to live streaming over pre-recorded video content. Donaldson has some experience livestreaming content in the past, usually for fundraising efforts like Team Seas and other charitable projects. However, the 27-year-old wants to pivot to live streaming as YouTube witnesses an algorithmic change.
Donaldson appeared alongside Twitch streamer Marlon Garcia for a special collab broadcast on February 19. The famous YouTuber asked, “You know, I want to become a live streamer, Marlon. How do I do it?”
Marlon replied immediately, “You’re doing it right now. You’re doing a great job. You have 400,000 people looking at you.” Donaldson asked inquisitively, “What should I stream? Like, if I wanted to go live next week, what should I do? I wanna do something big. What if I put 100 people in a circle and stream it? And the last one to leave wins a million dollars.”
Interestingly, Donaldson has put people in a circle and made content out of it, but he has never live-streamed it. In one of his famous videos, he asked a man to live inside a circle for 100 days. If the man managed to fulfill the task, he would stand to earn $500,000. Fans had interesting reactions to MrBeast’s livestreaming plans. One fan commented, “100 people in a circle for $1M is just Squid Game with better branding.”
A second fan wrote, “Classic MrBeast energy. That ‘100 people in a circle’ idea sounds insane—but knowing him, he’d make it a full-on spectacle. I remember watching his first big challenge videos and being glued to the screen, cheering on contestants like it was a sport. Imagining that much chaos and suspense live? I’d probably clear my schedule just to watch.” A third fan penned, “That could get chaotic, but imagine the craziness if it actually happens!” Finally, a fan remarked, “100 people, one winner — peak chaos. He’d make it art.”
