Meghan Markle’s new engagement ring has reportedly nothing to do with Prince Harry. On February 15, the married couple was spotted enjoying the NBA All-Star Game from court-side seats. As they posed for photos, the Duchess of Sussex’s diamond ring caught everyone’s attention. Recently, a jewelry expert revealed its significance to the Daily Mail.
Jewelry expert and Kimjoux founder Trang Do claimed that Markle was wearing the ring on her right hand. It reportedly “symbolizes independence, self-love, and personal power.” However, she also mentioned that the jewelry could also represent an “upgrade or evolution of her engagement ring story.”
According to Do, the new addition with an oval-cut design didn’t reportedly seem like a gift from Harry. It felt “much more like a self-purchase.” She added, “If confirmed natural and self-purchased, this could subtly signal a shift in personal narrative or a new chapter [Markle’s] choosing to mark independently.”
At the game, Markle and Harry were almost twinning with the choice of color they wore. Both donned a sporty-casual look and posed with big smiles for the camera. The duke wore dark-shade jeans, a navy blue shirt, and a baseball cap. Meanwhile, the “Suits” alum wore navy blue pants and a full-sleeve sweater. With minimal makeup and jewelry, the mother of two let her hair down.
Furthermore, they were not the only celebrities in the crowd. Former president Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama, Queen Latifah, Vin Diesel, Tyla, and Ludacris also attended the basketball match.
