Deadloch Season 2 gets first trailer and release date
Deadloch Season 2 will premiere globally on Prime Video on March 20, launching with its first two episodes in more than 240 countries and territories. The six-part season will roll out weekly, culminating in the finale on April 17. Prime Video released the official trailer ahead of the return of the Australian crime comedy.
In the new season, the story moves from Tasmania to Australia’s Northern Territory, known as the Top End. Detectives Dulcie Collins and Eddie Redcliffe travel to Darwin to investigate the death of Eddie’s former policing partner, Bushy. A body part surfaces in the remote town of Barra Creek. At the same time, Northern Territory police focus on a large-scale search for two missing backpackers.
Season 2 follows the detectives as they work to identify a John Doe. The case unfolds against a backdrop of crocodile-fueled tourism, overstretched Indigenous rangers, and wary locals in Barra Creek. As the investigation continues, new questions emerge about the crime and the town’s secrets. The first season reached the top 10 TV shows on Prime Video in more than 165 countries and territories, including the U.S., UK, and Canada (via Amazon News).
Returning cast members include Kate Box, Madeleine Sami, Nina Oyama, and Alicia Gardiner. New additions include Luke Hemsworth, Steve Bisley, Shari Sebbens, Genevieve Morris, Byron Coll, Nikki Britton, Anthony J Sharpe, Blake Pavey, and Damien Garvey.
Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan created and wrote the series, and they executive produce it alongside Kevin Whyte, Tanya Phegan, and Ben Grogan, while Andy Walker produces, and Beck Cole and Gracie Otto direct.
