NBA Veteran Wants LeBron James Out of All-Star Game Bid, Here’s Why

Fans were shocked after LeBron James did not make it to the NBA All-Star Game starting roster after decades. However, former professional basketball player Charles Barkley had a different opinion regarding this development.

Former NBA star Charles Barkley gets vocal about LeBron James’ All-Star game status

In a recent segment of Inside The NBA, Charles Barkley shared his thoughts on LeBron James not making the All-Star Game starting roster this year. Former player Shaquille O’Neal was also part of this discussion. Barkley felt that James shouldn’t be included because younger players need opportunities to shine. The 62-year-old stated, “We already have the starters, and I want to give some other guys coming off the bench some shine.”

Moreover, the All-Star Game seems to have lost its charm, as it has stopped bothering many players. However, it does hold value to Barkley. He was further asked if James belongs to the team. As such, the Philadelphia 76ers icon said, “It’s borderline.” Moreover, Barkley was seen rooting for the Phoenix Suns’ Dillon Brooks to be part of the annual exhibition game.

Additionally, Barkley talked about James’s future in the sport. He said, “Well, there’s one thing I’m sure of. This is his last year with the Lakers. He’s not going to play with the Lakers next year.” Barkley further added, “I’ve always said I’d like to see him finish in Cleveland. “I’m not opposed to him getting traded to Cleveland this year… I thought he should have never left Cleveland. But this is last year with the Lakers,” he expressed.

Meanwhile, James also reacted to him not being selected for the starter roster. When asked if he was concerned about not making it to the plan of 2026, the four-time NBA champion said, “Nah, not at all.” The 41-year-old added that he is “grateful” about being considered for the game. He further explained, “If I’m there, I’ll be there in attendance. If I’m not, I know I’ll be able to take full advantage of it, I know exactly what I’ll be doing.”
