On January 24, Helen Hunt shared a photo alongside her partner, Jeffrey Nordling, on Instagram. She simply captioned, “and now we’re 4.” The post has gone viral and has received well-wishes from her followers.
The Oscar-winner admitted that they briefly dated back in 1998 in an interview with Flow Space in June 2025. Hunt candidly spoke about her relationship with Nordling, saying it has been “lovely.”
“I’ve never really talked about that,” the 62-year-old revealed. “And I always thought he was lovely and sweet and talented and dreamy. We both had very different lives for decades, and then, in some crazy way, found each other again.”
After she split with her partner, Matthew Carnahan, in 2017, Hunt revealed that her daughter encouraged her to find love once more. She recalled, “The sentence was, ‘You should date someone hot. I mentioned [Nordling], and we had mutual friends, and we had breakfast.” Subsequently, the pair reportedly started dating in 2022.
Since then, Hunt has posted photos of themselves on several occasions. In March 2025, she posted a photo of the two of them wearing rival teams’ caps at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, while wishing him for his birthday in the caption. A few days later, she posted another photo outside of Wrigley Field in Chicago.
While Hunt and Nordling worked together on the 1988 action movie, Shooter, they rose to fame from other projects. Hunt starred in As Good as It Gets as Carol Connelly alongside Jack Nicholson. Her role also earned her her first Academy Award. She also starred in projects such as Twister, Cast Away, Shots Fired, and Mad About You.
Meanwhile, Nordling has also had a long-standing and successful career. He has appeared in projects such as Once and Again, Dirt, 24, Desperate Housewives, Tron: Legacy, and Big Little Lies.
