With Peacock’s latest buddy spy thriller series, Ponies, coming to an end, program creators Susanna Fogel and David Iserson have come out to share what they’ve planned for a potential Season 2. In a recent interview, the creative duo touched upon the arcs they would want to explore in a possible follow-up edition, naming Andrei, Dane, and Cheryl as the characters in focus.

The showrunners opened up about the aftermath of the Ponies finale, stating that in case Season 2 happens, the installment would pick up right where the last episode left off.
“They [Bea and Twila] feel they have the upper hand on Andrei, but he turns the tables on them; we see this shampoo bottle at the end, and we know that maybe they still do have one more card to play, as Susanna was saying. So he escapes, but it’s still possible that, you know that all is not lost,” David Iserson told TV Insider.
Iserson continued, “They’re being held at gunpoint, and the KGB is stealing these documents from the CIA. So we’re wondering how the KGB is going to use those documents, what they’re going to find out, what they’re going to discover, who is going to be put at risk there, how that affects all of the operations of the Americans in the Soviet Union and abroad.”
Susanna Fogel then added that the back-and-forth chemistry between Andrei and Bea would also be important to Ponies Season 2. “One thing that we’re really excited about is just exploring the complexity of the power dynamics between the two of them,” she remarked.
Talking about Dane, Iserson noted that Season 2 would expand upon how the CIA lead feels about Chris being alive and “how that makes him vulnerable.” Moreover, the highly anticipated second season would delve into “why Cheryl was turned, and what her being turned means and could do going forward.”
Additionally, David Iserson noted that Ponies Season 2 would largely take place in Moscow. “There may be more to explore as we widen out, but I think it still is very much a Moscow show,” he said.
