Taylor Swift Makes History Amid Blake Lively Text Drama

Taylor Swift recently made history by becoming one of the singer-songwriters inducted into the 2026 class of the Songwriters Hall of Fame. The songstress’ achievement comes amid her text drama with Blake Lively, related to the latter’s ongoing legal battle with It Ends With Us filmmaker Justin Baldoni.

Taylor Swift is set to become one of the nine inductees of the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026. The induction will take place at the Induction and Awards Gala, scheduled for June 11, 2026, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Notably, this event will not be accessible to the general public. Meanwhile, subsequent weeks will see more special award honorees announced.

At 36, the “Bad Blood” artist is the youngest female songwriter inductee. In addition, she is reportedly the second-youngest inductee, preceded by “Fingertips” musician Stevie Wonder, inducted in 1983 at 32-33.

The other eight inductees are:

  • Walter Afanasieff
  • Terry Britten
  • Graham Lyle
  • Paul Stanley (KISS)
  • Gene Simmons (KISS)
  • Kenny Loggins
  • Alanis Morissette
  • Christopher “Tricky” Stewart

The full list of nominees was previously announced in October 2025. It included the aforementioned inductees — except Alanis Morissette — as well as Pete Bellotte, Andreas Carlsson, Steve Kipner, Jeffrey Steele, Patrick Leonard, Bob McDill, Kenny Nolan, Martin Page, Vini Poncia, Tom Snow, Larry Weiss, Gerry Beckley and Dewey Bunnell of America, David Byrne, Richard Carpenter, Harry Wayne Casey, The Guess Who’s Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings, Sarah McLachlan, P!nk, Boz Scaggs, LL Cool J, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine, and The Go-Go’s Jane M. Wiedlin.

This news comes at a rather troubling time for Taylor Swift. The singer recently made headlines after details from unsealed court documents related to her friend, Blake Lively’s legal battle against Justin Baldoni, surfaced online. The details included text messages allegedly showing Swift providing substantial support to Lively in her fight against Baldoni. Moreover, the texts supposedly showed Swift making distasteful remarks about and insulting Baldoni, even calling him a “b***h.”

Swift’s comments in the texts sparked widespread negative reactions, with fans expressing disappointment with her through social media.
