Following its high-profile win at the Golden Globes, The Studio is officially preparing to return to production. Series co-creator, star, and executive producer Seth Rogen has confirmed that filming on Season 2 is set to begin shortly.
Speaking after The Studio was named Best Comedy Series at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards, Rogen said work on the second season is already underway behind the scenes. The actor and executive producer confirmed that filming is scheduled to start within days. “We start shooting in a week,” Rogen said (via Variety).
Rogen also revealed that events surrounding the awards ceremony have directly influenced the writing process for Season 2. According to him, “So yes, several things have happened, both today and leading up to this event that we have written directly into the show, and you’ll probably know what they are when you see them.”
Addressing the show’s growing popularity, Rogen said interest from industry executives and creatives has increased significantly since Season 1 aired. “A lot of people literally just come up to us and were like, ‘Put me on your show. I’ll do anything. I’ll walk by!’ It’s very lovely. The head of Sony, Tom [Rothman, the Chairman and CEO of the Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group]. I love that real studio heads want to be on the show.” He also referenced the appearance of Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos in the first season. “Ted kind of ruined it for everyone,” Rogen added.
Apple TV+ has not yet announced a release window for The Studio Season 2, but since filming is scheduled to begin next week, fans can expect the show to return later this year or early 2027.
