Tom Lawlor Talks Returning to MMA, His Pro Wrestling Style

Tom Lawlor won’t be strictly sticking to professional wrestling. The former UFC fighter is looking to get back into mixed martial arts competition. “I’ve been in talks with some companies recently,” Lawlor told The Roman Show. “I have some things on the table, but definitely before the end of the year I’ll be in the cage fighting somebody.”

“Filthy” will look to compete in both of his combat sports passions, as he’s not going anywhere in pro wrestling. He’s currently one of the faces of MLW, and he talked about how he’s glad he can bring his own style to the brand. “For myself, one of the biggest challenges is to get what my vision of professional wrestling is and to incorporate it to what everyone else does,” revealed Lawlor. “I enjoy watching something that looks like a fight, be it an old Pancrase match or a UWFI match, anything that looks like a struggle. Some people, that’s not their style, they want to hit high spots or do a lot of flips, and that’s totally fine. Everyone has differnet things they like, and it’s up to us as performers and professionals to take what we want and mold it into that finished product. It’s the best part about it, but also the hardest part.”
