Two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair was a recent guest on The Jim Ross Report podcast and conversed with Good Ole’ JR about the brains behind Starrcast, Conrad Thompson.
According to Jim Ross,
“Conrad may be the best marketer affiliated with the wrestling business that I’ve been around in my lifetime. He’s really smart.”
Flair chimed in with,
“This guy has transcended…the podcast business. He’s a genius. He’s got Michael Bochicchio coming to him now. In other words, they’re gonna take this deal like Michael does with WrestleCon & these podcast conventions – this is not confirmed – I certainly have said to him you ought to take this to every major event: Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, Survivor Series, and WrestleMania.”
“I think it’s a great concept and it allows the fans to interact. It’s all they ever wanted is to be a part of the show a little bit and to interact and get to know the stars just a little bit better and I think it’s sound marketing. He’s a breath of fresh air in the wrestling business and nobody outside the WWE is doing anything remotely close to what Conrad is doing right now. I really admire what he is doing.”
Starrcast will take place over the next several days of All In weekend. Jim Ross will also guest at the convention.
