Zakk Wylde Sounds Off On His All Time Favorite Wrestlers

The Inquisitr’s Carter Lee recently sat down with legendary heavy metal guitarist Zakk Wylde for an interview that covers the legendary performer’s illustrious career.

Wylde, who is currently on tour with Black Label Society, will tour with Ozzy Osbourne for the Prince of Darkness’ Farewell Tour.

Wylde also happens to be a professional wrestling fan and talked about his recent experience watching video of 1990s wrestling stars Vader & The Warlord,

We just watched some video of The Warlord, and I was just talking about Van Vader. Obviously, Van passed away not too long ago. I was just saying how he was just one of the best big men, if not the greatest big man, of all time. He’s doing moves that Father [Chris] Jericho and Edge would be doing, but he’s 390 pounds, which is pretty insane. We were just talking about all these amazing guys, showing The Warlord benching 500 pounds, for like 19 reps, all this ridiculous stuff.

Wylde commented on some of his personal favorites in the wrestling business,

If you don’t have the charisma and the gift of gab, I mean, people say, ‘Man, I wonder why this guy never got a push?’ And ‘this guy was awesome, and he never got a title shot.’ All these guys would say, ‘Yeah, [Hulk] Hogan was terrible, and the Ultimate Warrior was terrible. None of them could wrestle.’ I go, ‘Yeah, but it doesn’t matter.’

Wylde also expressed high praise for Bob Backlund & Superstar Billy Graham, as well as Curt “Mr. Perfect” Hennig and the “Macho Man” Randy Savage, whom the metal legend said would be in his top 10, primarily due to their exceptional promo work.
