Byron Saxton recently interviewed Candice LeRae for WWE.com. Amongst other topics, they discussed Candice’s journey in NXT so far and her marriage to fellow NXT star Johnny Gargano.
Candice revealed that being a WWE Superstar had been her childhood dream. She added that now that she was here, she had to push herself in the ring and in the gym to seize her opportunity.
Talking about her marriage to Johnny Gargano, she revealed that Gargano had helped her believe in herself which is what helped her get to where she was today. Candice also added that she sometimes had trouble keeping up with Gargano because of how talented he was. She also stressed that she wanted to make her own name in WWE and not ride his coattails because of how hard her husband had worked to get to where he was today.
Candice also revealed that in the past she’d struggled with self-confidence, something Johnny Gargano helped her to overcome after they met. She also said that Johnny was the only person who believed in her as much as her mother did, before adding that just watching Gargano’s work-ethic was life-changing for her.
