Rusev is the best! Rusev #1!
“The Bulgarian Brute” is the new number one contender, and he will now move on and challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules.
In what may be a shock to some of the WWE Universe, Rusev ended up winning tonight’s number one contender’s gauntlet match on Smackdown by making The Miz tap out to the Accolade. As soon as the match was over, Styles came to the ring after the match and laid his title down in front of Rusev, and asked for a handshake. Rusev obliged, but when Aiden English asked for Styles hand as a sign of respect, he rebuffed and mocked the champion with a ‘too slow’ motion. Styles was not amused, and decked English for the move, and Rusev asked why English did that as the show closed.

- The Miz by Rusev via submission
The WWE Championship match is the second match confirmed for WWE Extreme Rules. Nia Jax versus Alexa Bliss was set up on RAW last night, and Brock Lesnar’s next challenger will be determined in a multi-man match at the pay-per-view.
