WWE.com recently spoke to Johnny Gargano ahead of his match with Tommaso Ciampa at NXT TakeOver: Chicago. Gargano spoke about how this match was different from the unsanctioned match at TakeOver: New Orleans. Gargano said that after the last match, he knew that the war had just begun whereas this time, the rivalry has escalated. He added that this match would make their unsanctioned match look like a walk in the park.
Gargano also spoke about having his wife, Candice LeRae, by his side. He said that it meant everything to him because she was his light in the darkness.
Gargano also had a final warning for Ciampa. With the match happening in Chicago, where Ciampa had turned on him, Gargano said he wanted to send Ciampa to the hospital in the same ambulance he went in last year, where Ciampa would wake up afraid and alone.
