On how he and DJZ came together as the new tag team Z&E:

AE: We’ve know each other a long time. He’s one of the first guys I met when I came into Impact Wrestling. My was actually in my debut Impact match. We have similar histories and have recently had some injuries that kind of knocked us on to our asses. We’ve finally come back better, more determined and together we’ve decided, “Hey, let’s make a run of this.” We’ve done some stuff in Triple A together. We’ve done some stuff in Japan together and we figured we might as well bring it stateside.

On how Z&E was able to defeat Scott Steiner for the Impact Wrestling Tag Team Championships:

AE: They had some communication issues that we were able to take advantage of. Steiner knows what he’s doing in there, he’s one of the best tag team wrestlers in the world. Eli has made a damn good go of things as a singles wrestler but we were able to isolate him in there. We are quicker and we are faster and it worked out for us. We knew that we were going to have to stay away from Steiner and try to just dance around someone who is such a prolific tag team wrestler.

On what he thought Z&E’s mathematical odds were going into their match against Steiner and Drake:

AE: Oh man, number one, I am not good at regular match… it’s my worst subject. Then you add Steiner’s math into the equation and I couldn’t tell you what our chances were. He’s probably the better person to ask that question to. He’s probably the only one that knows. With that said, I’d say we probably defied the odds in there.
