Johnny Gargano was set to face Aleister Black for the NXT Championship, but Tommaso Ciampa once again attacked her former friend and set him away in an ambulance.
Ciampa attacked Gargano during his entrance on NXT, hitting him from behind and kicking his head into the video board on the stage. Ciampa wasn’t done just yet, and he ended up sending Gargano through a table by jumping off the stage while hitting an over the shoulder back-to-belly piledriver (Air Raid Crash / White Noise).
Gargano was loaded onto a stretcher and taken out of the building with a medical team and his wife Candice LeRae. The camera then panned up to show Ciampa standing on top of a production truck, waving goodbye to the ambulance as they took Gargano to a ‘local medical facility’.

Black’s night was not over, as he marched to the ring with the intentions of calling out Ciampa for taking out his challenger. Sanity instead came out and issued a challenge, and Black accepted on the spot. Black ended up winning a back and forth match against Eric Young, hitting Black Mass for the win before laying out the rest of the group for trying to jump him after the bell.
