On: Why the name KM:

KM: Well people that know me personally in my real life growing up, get ready for this drum roll please my real name is Kevin Matthew McDonald. So, my entire wrestling career I went as Kevin Mathews. My first and middle name. Why exactly is it only KM and I was never Kevin Matthews? I don’t know. Maybe it’s because there is a certain G.O.A.T. in Impact that already has that last name. I am the only wrestler on TV with to initials for a name.

On his match on the Indies against Butterbean:

KM: It wasn’t a real match. It was pretty terrible they put the belt on him to get some publicity and nobody cared. They had to take the belt off of him at the next show. Even going over the match with him I asked him what he wants to do out there and how long he wants to go. He (Butterbean) looked at a fake watch on his wrist and asked if it was over yet. The match was like 30 seconds long. It was what it was. He is a cool dude though. The match was garbage.

On how he made it to Impact Wrestling:

KM: When Jeff Jarrett came back on board and slowly started stepping back into a leadership role they needed someone to finish the storyline with Braxton (Sutter), Allie, Laurel Van Ness, and Mike and Maria Bennett. Mike and Maria had just left. They came up with the idea to do a cousin thing with Sienna since Sienna was her girl. Since Mike wasn’t around they needed someone. They needed someone to be an asshole. Jeff Jarrett said that he knew a perfect guy for the job. I remember he told Dutch (Mantell) You are going to hate this guy so much. When you see his face, you are just going to want to punch him in it.

On if the getting to show his personality during vignettes/in ring segments and if that will continue:

KM: I’m not sure. Each tapping is different. We don’t know what we are taping until we get there. I didn’t know about the Laurel Van Ness marrying the Knockouts title segment until a day before we did it. That was pretty fun. My personality during that is pretty much as close to the real me as you are going to get. That was just me having fun. That’s why that came off so good. It was me being me. As far as anything else like that happening I don’t know but I hope so. I love that stuff.
