Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed an earlier report by The Wrestling Observer Newsletter about Batista being in talks about becoming Rousey’s partner. Apparently, he had several conversations with Triple H about the role. According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, the talks went well enough where it looked like this match could be used to plant the seeds for a Wrestlemania 35 match between the two superstars. Even Batista himself stated that he would love to participate in this match.

Batista Kept in the Dark

Despite that, the talks discontinued in January. Although the WWE star believed that he would be at this year’s event, he never got any confirmation from Triple H or WWE about the match. Soon after, Kurt Angle was announced as Rousey’s partner. The weird part is that Batista wan not even notified or given a courtesy call about it. They all just pretended like nothing happened. It was, no doubt, quite a blow to the pro wrestling legend.
