Triple H Comments On The Grandeur And Spectacle Of Wrestlemania, Ronda Rousey Calls WWE ‘Social Commentary’ Of The World (Video)

FOX News recently spoke with Ronda Rousey and Triple H during last week’s Wrestlemania 35 press conference at MetLife Stadium; you can read a few highlights (transcription credit to Bill Pritchard for Wrestlezone.com) and watch the full video below:

Triple H on the spectacle of Wrestlemania:

I don’t know of anybody that ever comes to —especially Wrestlemania—that comes to the event and leaves and doesn’t go ‘oh my God, that was the greatest spectacle I’ve ever seen.’ And then for our fanbase, it means the experience of a lifetime.

When you talk about the Olympics or something, there’s a series of events, but they do this unbelievable Opening Ceremony and then some Olympic events take place. Or it’s a massive opening, and a soccer game takes place. With us, the spectacle and the grandeur takes place the entire event. Every bit of it is part of that, and it’s this attack on all of your senses so to speak when you are there, and the excitement and the energy is infectious.

Ronda Rousey on what she hopes to accomplish in WWE:

Sports are a metaphor for life, and I believe that WWE is social commentary for the world. What is happening in the WWE Universe is reflecting what is happening in the world around it. The events that happen resonate so much with our fans, and I feel like what happens in WWE has such a far reach on social impact. I feel like to affect real social change, this is one of the most effective places to start.

I’m happy to open the door for people who are true fans and have a real passion for this business, but I really don’t think this is an opportunity for people who are only here for the money. I really just hope to inspire more people to be lifelong fans, and that’ll eventually bring them here.
