Matt Sydal is enlightened, and the new X Division Champion after defeating Taiji Ishimori on tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling.
Sydal, who is still the current reigning Grand Champion, won the X Division Championship for the first time. He ends Ishimori’s lone reign at 64 days after he won the title on the November 9 episode of Impact.
The final moments of the match saw Sydal miss a Shooting Star Press, and Ishimori hit an inverted lungblower. He went up top for the 450, but Sydal got his knees up, then hit a successful Shooting Star Press for the win.
