Lucha Underground Sends Legal Threat To Wrestling Journalist

Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet.com posted an legal letter he received this week from Lucha Underground’s parent company over his reporting that revealed spoilers for the upcoming fourth season of the El Rey Network wrestling series.

  • Lucha Underground’s legal letter states that Satin’s website reported spoilers on February 24th and that they feel under California law these are trade secrets.
  • The LU representatives demanded Satin cease all publication of ‘spoilers’ from their tapings.
  • The letter also asks that Satin reveal his sources for this information.
  • Satin responded with his letter, denying the legal request.
  • Satin defended his website’s coverage of Lucha Underground’s Seasong 4 tapings under constitutional law.
  • Satin further stated he did not attend the tapings, therefore did sign a non-disclosure agreement with the wrestling promotion.
  • Satin also says he will not reveal his sources.
  • He noted that Lucha Underground and it’s associated promotion AAA have a long history of sending legal letters to “scare talent/promoters into doing what they say”
