During tonight’s Kickoff pre-show, it was announced that the respective winners of the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches would be able to challenge the champion of their choosing.
In recent years, the Rumble winner would face their respective show’s champion, but now WWE has reverted back to the rule where the winner(s) could choose which champion they faced.
